Continous Delivery toolkit
ENACT will deliver two enablers that aim at improving the continuous delivery of smart IoT systems, with a specific focus on (i) agile and continuous evolution and (ii) ensuring the proper design of the system before delivery. A particular attention will be given to support the testing of smart IoT systems and the gradual migration from the test to the operation environment.
Agile Operation Toolkit
ENACT will deliver three innovative enablers to significantly reduce the burden of managing and maintaining smart IoT systems. A specific attention will be given (i) to ensure the trustworthiness of such systems and (ii) to automate operation activities as much as possible.
ENACT will deliver a set of enablers addressing specific crosscutting trustworthiness concerns such as ensuring proper robustness, security and privacy of smart IoT systems.
A new research project based on the ENACT results!
SINTEF secured an innovation project funded by the Norwegian Research Council, based on the ENACT research on fleet-oriented operation of Edge/IoT systems. TellU, an eHealth solution provider also from ENACT, and Dolittle, a software house with their business in the the maritime domain, are the industry partners. The project will keep close collaboration with Microsoft.
One of the SINTEF's missions is to bring together and extend emerging technologies trough research and innovation to create value and develop solutions to challenges faced by society. A main channel to achieve this objective is to actively communicate and transfer knowledge, solutions and recommendations to industry and government. A possible way to do this is by acquiring new projects to (i) transfer the knowledge and technology gained during the project and (ii) to sustain and improve existing technology as well as to develop new technology and knowledge.
Following this path, the FLEET project by SINTEF, Tellu AS, and Dolittle has been accepted by the Norwegian Research Council for funding and will start in the coming months. FLEET stands for "Fleet-Oriented Intelligent Operation of Large Scale Edge System" and will leverage and build upon two of the ENACT results: GeneSIS (orchestration and deployment) and DivEnact (fleet management). By the end of ENACT and during the first months of FLEET an active collaboration will be set up to ensure the proper uptake of these enablers in FLEET.
